Ways Make Money at Home – Senior Opportunities

Okay, you are there. Retirement! The word retirement can be like a desert oasis for some who are we

ll-prepared and will make as much or even more money in retirement due to investments, retirement funds and social security.

For the rest of us, retirement is a four letter word: poor. So you start looking for ways make money at home.

Poor is not a word we want to hear, it hurts. We may not have been rich while working. Even if we were living paycheck to paycheck; money was flowing through the system. We knew we could keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. Now, uncertainty sets in and for many it is a scary time.

Retire Online – Look for New Horizons

One of the best ways make money at home is to retire online and work on the Internet. Now, there are many ways to work on the Internet. Some of it depends on your comfort and skill with technology. One track anyone can take is to learn and build an online affiliate marketing business.

I was skeptical at first. But that’s what I did and boy I am glad I did. Now, I knew I had a lot to learn. So, when I did my research one of the most important things I was looking to find high-quality training that would walk me through the process step-by-step and help me to be successful.

I found a number of possibilities and, of course, started with the ones that promised I would make a lot of money quickly with not very much work. Sounded so good. The pictures of living near the beach with your laptop you commute to work.

Yup, it sounded too good to be true. It was too good to be true. The only people who made money were the one’s that I paid!

Seems that was money going in the wrong direction – away from me. That was not the plan.

Back to the drawing board I went. More research and more frustration.

Finding Another Path – Looking For Another Way of Life

While I was researching another program called AWOL from an email I received, I stumbled on an alternative. It was a review of the AWOL program which clearly explained the cost of the program and how the $99 was just an entry fee. As soon you the $99 was paid; there was a more expensive training program that was going to be pitched at me. And, it only went up from there with some training programs costing as much as $10,000! WOW!

As I reached the bottom of that review I found a sentence “Click here to read about my #1 program recommendation.” Out of curiosity I clicked on the link and found just I was looking for.

I must have read the article four times. It seemed like just what I was looking for but I’d been burned before. This email talked about a program that provided:

  1. an all-in-one website and technical support platform
  2. all kinds of training including a step-by-step curriculum, live training, 24/7 chat support, and more
  3. a user community that was supportive and engaged assisting each other succeed
  4. a free trial program
  5. one low cost price without a long list of products they would try to sell me

It sounded great but I had been burnt before and I had my doubts. The offer to try it for free and see for myself was too good for me to pass up.

  1. Some of these internet marketing and business making ideas can be scary. Especially when your working on fixed retirement or other income. The idea of being able to use your recommended product of wealthy affiliate for free seems like little risk. I appreciate that you gave a real comparison of what you get for free versus paid. You did not hide anything. I feel like I have been too many places and seen too many “perfect answers” to supplement income that turned out to be misleading. Upfront and real, I like that a lot! Can you stay on free or do you have to upgrade to a paid membership?

    1. Hi Christina,
I agree with you there is no “perfect” answer. The is absolutely no risk with WA and yes you can stay on the free membership as long as you want. Once most people see the quality of the training and the value of the technology package they want to become premium members. Remember that for $49 a month and less if you pay annually you can have 25 domain name websites with security, SSL certificates, backup and support. That is a real value. But as I said, you can stay on the free plan if you wish.
      Thanks for your comment.

  2. Hello Steven,
Loved your article. Yes, retirement can mean ‘poor’ as you say in your article, but your article gives anyone – retired or not – to make a change and take their learning to another level. I am a member of the Wealthy Affiliate platform and I can attest to the fact that it has given me a broader horizon to make some income on a part-time basis. I am still learning and I am convinced that this platform is worth every penny because it is also an investment in me.
Thanks for making others aware of the opportunity.
All the best to you as well on your journey.

    1. Hi Michelle,
Retirement can be great or not, one thing I know is that no one retires wanting to be a greeter at Wall Mart. At the same time, we all need to understand how the world has changed and leverage our skills against those changes. Ignoring or denying the changes that have happened won’t negate them.
      Thanks for you comment.
